The Killers é uma banda de rock americana de Las Vegas, Nevada, formada em 2002 e composta por Brandon Flowers (vocais, teclado), Dave Keuning (guitarra, vocais), Mark Stoermer (baixo, vocais) e Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (bateria, percussão). Seus dois primeiros álbuns até hoje venderam juntos um excedente de 10 milhões de cópias pelo mundo. Eles têm o seu nome vindo do clip ‘Crystal’ da banda New Order.

Inicialmente, o The Killers tocava para clubes grandes em Las Vegas. Com os mesmos integrantes e o repertório de músicas expandindo, a banda começou a atrair a atenção de bookers talentosos, agentes locais, grandes gravadoras, “caçadores de talentos” - e um representante da Warner Bros do Reino Unido. Apesar dele não ter escolhido a banda, levou o demo com ele, mostrando para um amigo que trabalhava na gravadora (de Londres) Lizard King Records (agora Marrakesh Records). No verão de 2002, The killers fechou negócio com uma gravadora britânica.

Eles lançaram seu álbum de estréia Hot Fuss em Junho de 2004 no Reino Unido e nos EUA (pela Island Records). O primeiro single foi Somebody Told Me, um sucesso nos charts de música por todo o mundo. A banda também teve sucesso com os singles “Mr. Brightside”, alcançando o topo do Top 10 no Reino Unido, e “All These Things That I’ve Done.”

It's sad that I have been a fan for so long and have never seen them. As soon as they come back to FL, I am going to follow them around the state with my friend. I'm already saving up! Ugh, November is SO long to wait! :)

the only problem i have with hot fuss, is that a couple of the songs got way over played on radio, and i still cant listen those songs very often. rest of the album is awesome though. but i like sam's town a lot too, and sawdust as well. really hanging out for the new album

All these things that i've done has garnered a cult following for the lyrics "i've got soul but i'm not a soldier" the concert with U2 and others incorporating the lyrics, commercials, and it's feature in the movie southland tales have boosted it's popularity.
