Okay, ignore the "pop" in my comment. Metal is still mostly irrelevant, sludge and hipster not in the least, again. Sometimes I just wonder who tags the stuff on last.fm. Like the "albums i own" tag and someone tagging the 25th Anniversary Edition of PSBWB with industrial.
Not a knock on the music, but The Escape Clause definitely aren't sadcore or slowcore. Sadcore and slowcore are usually typified by a subdued, acoustic sound with hushed vocals. It gives the impression that the band is going to be some boring, slow acoustic act, when really they have more of a hard rock, metal sound.
Well you guys sound pretty good but i think the singer should sing with some more energy cause she sounds kinda sad. I dunno if that is what you guys are going for but well i dont like the singingstyle that much but yeah thats my opinion.
i was asked for feedback. the production makes the drums sound hollow and her voice needs some stress in it if you want to do anything but sound like a college band. guitar and bass parts are a little catchy, not necessarily a compliment.. i think you have a direction that you want to go, but the sound lacks conviction, like everyone isn't onboard.. keep at it
