Van gammele punkpoppers naar zelfbewuste hardrockers.

The Donnas vieren hun sweet sixteen feestje met een carrièreoverzicht. Zoals dat gaat met zestienjarigen - "That was last year, I was like soooo lame back then" - mag er echter vooral niet te nadrukkelijk terug worden gekeken op het verleden. Dus zijn bijna alle oude nummers opnieuw opgenomen.

De band heeft ook wel een behoorlijke transformatie ondergaan van gammele punkpoppers naar zelfbewuste hardrockers. Het zijn dan ook de twee nieuwe nummers 'Get Off' en 'Perfect Stranger' die de meeste indruk maken. Lekkere hardrock voor op de radio in het verlengde van KISS. De andere tracks die er bovenuit springen zijn de twee liveopnames. Hierin is duidelijk te horen dat de vier Donna's al sinds hun dertiende in dezelfde samenstelling spelen.

Het is ze ook zeker niet komen aanvliegen; The Donnas zijn nou niet bepaald de meest getalenteerde muzikanten op deze aardbol. Door stug volhouden hebben ze het geschopt van toch een beetje een gimmick - vier hele jonge meisjes die een punkbandje waren begonnen - tot een serieuze blue collar hardrockband. In Europa hebben ze daarmee nog geen potten gebroken, maar in de VS zijn ze inmiddels MTV-waardig. Dat is ook wel het minste wat die zender voor ze kan terugdoen na al het pionierswerk dat ze hebben verricht voor de bulldozerpopmeisjes waarmee die zijn zendtijd nu vult.
