I think there's a special blend of sound that certain bands achieve, with that golden ratio of lyrics, guitar, drums, and yes, even sometimes the trumpet. The Riots have that blend. Imagine, if you will, a band that transcends space and time to a place where it's alright to throwback to the world of suspenders and bowler caps, and be completely genuine in the process. Stomp and shout all you want to the music. They want you to.
The Bowery Riots: It's like Cake, but with actual people.
"It is possible to say New York City is synonymous with anything; you could say it is known for its restaurants, its toughness, its nightlife, anything, so to say it is known for its music is far from far off. Greatness has emerged from its streets throughout all genres. Some say hip hop was born here, some say jazz is still alive here, and I’m saying rock n’ roll has been revived here. There is a crew of sexy girls and pretty boys rocking out New York City venues, giving its crowd a totally different feel. They have a vibe that brings the masses to a speakeasy good time, but a voice that reminds us we are still in present day. It isn’t easy to compare their sound to music we have heard before, but one could describe it as downtown Manhattan riotous rock n soul. They call themselves The Bowery Riots."
