Yeah you get that feeling of "oh fuck I've never heard something like this before" when you listen to this song, even today. Yes, I suggested kraut rock as a possible genre connection because of the heavy usage of electronic elements and the ambients that this song creates. And BTW, Kraftwerk are often mentioned as part of the Kraut Rock scene.

"Tomorrow Never Knows" influenced music period. Members of Kraftwerk were influenced by this track. The big sounding bass & drums and playing around with loops sounds a lot like what is going on with modern music.

Funny that you should mention kraut rock, javier0889. I was slaughtered in this shoutbox for daring to suggest a connection between "Tomorrow Never Knows" and the origins of post-rock. Of course, there's probably a better argument one could make for "Tomorrow Never Knows" and post-punk, but I don't think my hypothesis was so far-fetched.
