"Exit" was their original label .. well .. actually .. they were originally on Myrrh, but I guess the higher ups got their shorts in a knot because they were too edgy for the label of Amy Grant on their first album, Ping Pong, so they created a new subsidiary label, Exit. I don't believe the 77s/Sheventy Shevens/Mike Roe/et al ever have put out an album entitled "Exit."

what album is "Exit" and why is it listed as the top album? the top five tracks are all from the s/t Island release and it's not even in the top four albums. weird.

I don't believe in apostrophes! Apostrophes are evil. ;-) Actually, I always use 77s (w/o the apo) as it is what I am more familiar with. I don't remember if "Ping Pong Over the Abyss" used the apo, but that is the first album I used to play on rock radio back in 84 (83?). BTW -- 77s are still my favorite CCRock band of all time!

Is anyone else offended by the misplaced apostrophe in their name? (Although even their own web site is not consistent in the way it's displayed.) End apostrophe abuse now! :-)

The 77's are incredible- a great musical insperation to me- if there will ever be a time when I'm out making cds in the music field, I will be sure to mention them as my nuber 1 insperation. Their self titaled album put out in 1987 is probably their best but it's hard to say. There is really no 77's album that I don't like.

The 77's are still possibly my favorite band. I have felt this way for about 22 years now. And Mike is STILL putting out some great music! If you haven't heard Rocks In Your Head then you are missing it! A listen to any of their albums all the way back to Ping Pong and they still sound ahead of the times.

Ping Pong was made available in a box set about ten years or so ago that included it, All Fall Down, and Sticks and Stones. It goes for a tidy sum on eBay!
