It's not even 'kraut rock' anyway, that was bands like Can and Amon Duul who played rock music.

Whaaaa?! Germrock, Farfegnuggenrock? Naw, we'll still call our lovable 'buds as Krauts (even though we spy on 'em like an unfaithful husband). Hey, WWII was the only war us Americans did fairly well in even though we didn't host the shindig. The term will remain with us in countless American war movie reruns for generations to come. My father's parents came from Deutchland. Would like to visit the place some day. This "Kraut Yank" even owns a BMW. Ok, Aufwheitesein! (or somewhat reasonable fascimile of the spelling).

Was ist dis Krautrock? Sounds like a slur tag to me. I thought we stopped calling Germans Krauts 10 years after the end of WWII. TD was a favorite in the mid to late 70s, and even into the early 80s. Trippy songs to accompany days of altered-state existences.

Travelling through space and time, washing up on a cosmic beach, a thousand suns and a trillion stars. Under the sea where the octopus pulsates, the skate swims effortlessly and the jellyfish floats on unseen currents. So many images, so many stars, so many faces. Had not heard this in probably 20 years. I still love it.

My favorite track off of Phaedra. Reminds me of a twilit beach, and a cold wind blowing off of the lake.
