Takida is a band from Ånge, Sweden, formed in 1999. The band consists of Robert Petterson (vocals, piano), Tomas Wallin (guitar), Mattias Larsson (guitar), Fredrik Pålsson (bass) and Kristoffer Söderström (drums).
In 2000 they recorded their first demo, “Old”, and in 2005 they were signed up by Swedish indie-label Ninetone Records. They released their first single, “Losing”, in January 2006 and in April 2006 their first album …Make You Breathe was released. Their second album, Bury the Lies, was released in May 2007. The same year the single Curly Sue topped radio channel P3s “Tracks” list for ten consecutive weeks.
After the success of Bury The Lies Takida received a number of offers from large labels but decided to turn them down and record their follow up album The Darker Instinct on their own label Takida AB. The album is slated to be released on September 2 2009. [1]
August 18, 2009 Takida announced that they had signed contract with the global Roadrunner Records. The first release outside Scandinavia will be Bury The Lies in Germany on October 2.
The name Takida comes from the character Gohei Takeda in the Japanese anime series Nagareboshi Gin.

Von www.takida.de - Album in den MRC Charts Selbst nach über 4 Wochen des Releasedates des aktuellen Albums „Bury The Lies“ sind die Schwedenrocker tAKiDA nicht aus den Club-Charts wegzudenken. In den Metal-Rock-Dj-Charts (kurz MRC) halten sie sich mit "Losing" & "Evil Eye" stets in den oberen Rängen und es scheint noch kein Ende in Sicht. Hier die Platzierungen der letzten Wochen: MRC 30 Album: #26, 8, 11, 4, 14, 8, 9, 9, 14, 8 Das Album „Bury The Lies“ erschien in Deutschland am 02. Oktober. Auf der Scheibe sind u.a. "Losing", "Evil Eye" und die Ballade „Curly Sue“ vertreten, mit welchen sie in ihrem Heimatland große Erfolge feierten. Bald werden die Jungs als Support der Band „Butterfly Effect“ auf Tour gehen. Tickets gibt es an den bekannten und beliebten Vorverkaufsstellen.

Zellciuz: They will probably be famous in a couple of years. I can see them getting big in Germany and the rest of the scandinavian countries. I havn't listened to the new album a whole lot but I don't really like it all that much. It was a letdown for me..

I liked it very much, it's not like the other albums which are insane but this one is still very good imo! :)
