  • Live Review: ARCH ENEMY @ HI-FI Brisbane 7 November 2009 with Winds of Plague (USA)…

Sat 7 Nov – Arch Enemy, Suffocation, Winds of Plague
Arch Enemy, Suffocation, Winds of Plague

    excerpt:
"Angela brings the goods again and again and again, from “The Beast of Man”, to “Bridge of Destiny”. A curdling force of rage akin to the sound of a mother giving birth is her scream. The band play superbly, a moment of heightened electricity in the crowd is when “Nemesis” is showcased. “All for one… we are strong… we are one”…. "

CD Review: Suffocation – The Close of a Chapter (Live in Quebec)

‘This is … Brutal!’ yells Frank Mullen at the end of The Close of a Chapter’s opening track, “Infecting the Crypts”. This is Suffocation. Birthed from the insomniac New York Underground, Suffocation clawed their way to the top of the death metal pit in the early nineties, with shadows of their unrelenting riffs and Mike Smith’s seminal blast beats cast across lesser black drum kits ever since. Suffocation captures the energy of a single moment of explosion and sticks it on endless repeat. And the lyrics are about killing people. Yeah, it’s brutal. But this isn’t a
dissection of the value of Suffocation’s music. That blood spattered throne has already been carved.

  • Oh look, it's another journal!

    Nov 5 2009, 7h34 por NitrousBlond

Hello! Here is another fun and exciting journal by the one and only Mick Bynes! I'm going to be discussing stuff that I love. So without further ado, let's get to it!

First off Benighted are a really killer band. More people should listen to 'em. Seriously! They have three awesome albums you should check out. You should definitely check out Icon, Identisick and Insane Cephalic Production. They are fucking fast and heavy albums. Get them now!

The Faceless are pretty damn good. One of today's best technical death metal bands. They have such great songs such as Prison Born and An Autopsy. These guys are really worth your precious and valuable time. Go right ahead and get both of their albums. Most definitely get Planetary Duality. I highly recommend that one.

Suffocation are a fucking great death metal band. They really really are. With great songs like TocarHuman Waste, TocarBind Torture Kill and TocarMass Obliteration, you cannot go wrong with them. I really dig them. I should get their latest album someday. I dunno when I'll get it, but I'll get it eventually!

Zyklon are a really terrific blackened death metal band. You should really listen to TocarCore Solution and TocarChaos Deathcult right away if you've never listened to them before.

Master are a really solid DM band that every death metal listener should listen to. They're really really fucking great. All of their albums are great. My favorite one is On the Seventh Day God Created... Master.

That's the journal! I hope you enjoyed it. Now take care and have a wonderful day!
