Obviously this song is amazing and there's tons of things to love about it, and one of those is when it pops up in The Thing. [2]

  • kiteo The lyric is typically simple and without any hidden meanings, but given the political climate of the time and if you read Wonder's interviews from then he was in a pessimistic and somewhat paranoic frame of mind, and who can blame him?

Lots of people missed the boat on this song's message the first time around. Stevie was tellin' ya superstition ain't the way and ppl thought the reverse. In their defense, many albums released didn't have sheet music lyrics back then and that was the era where ya had to listen to an album/song to interpret the message,if any. What a concept! Funny how about 7 years later in 1980, First Lady Nancy Reagan was actually starting to run the country through her astrologer and offer Ronald Reagan advice. True story. Anybody remember that?

He wrote this excellent ditty for Jeff Beck. Love the funky clavinet! After hearing this, I checked out Jeff playing it with Stevie live in Madison square garden on YouTube. Hot hot hot !!!!!

with the goverment shutdown will it still pop up in The Thing? At McDonalds you only get paid minimum wage and you have to do more work then your local congressman and senator.
