Todo el mundo sabe que la mejor música siempre será la música clásica pero para los que no están aún preparados ante tal maestría y talento se puede acceder a música más "fácil" de escuchar como lo es el Rock o similar.

A pesar de no ser música tan grandiosa como Mozart, Beethoven, Bach o compañia, se puede encontrar verdaderas preciosidades dignas de ser escuchadas para el oído entrenado o la mente abierta.

After much investigate on several pages of the net about music, I re-compiled the necessary information to find the best groups and soloists of the history of music.

The whole world knows that the best music always will be the classic music, but for those who are not prepared such mastery and talent, one can accede to "easier" music to listen like it is the Rock or similar.

In spite of not being a music so grand as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach or company, it is possible to find real preciousness worth being listened for the trained ear or the opened mind.

Sat 16 May – Joe Bonamassa

Joe Bonamassa - fragt man in Deutschland jemanden, ob er den erst 32jährigen kennt, erntet man meistens nur Schulterzucken. In den Staaten sieht das ganz anders aus. Aber selbst dort spielt er lieber vor 3000 Leuten, die er vollkommen mitsichreißt, statt in einem Stadion vor 30000 nach strengem Konzept.
In Deutschland kann man jetzt noch eine Null am Ende streichen. Nichtsdestotrotz ein famoses Konzert, welches vorallem an Abwechslung nicht zu überbieten war. Der Opener war ein rollendes Rock-Spektakel von seinem neuen Album, welches die Zuschauer sofort wissen ließ, dass es ganz bestimmt nicht langweilig wird. Wenig später folgte mein persönliches Lieblingslied "So Many Roads" - ein wunderschön energiegeladener Blues, der alle Stärken von Clapton, Moore & Co vereint.
Mit Eric Clapton ging es dann auch weiter, dessen "Further on up the Road" spielte er in einer wunderbar wuchtigen Version, Bonamassa ließ seine Wurzeln im Blues aber in keinem seiner Lieder vermissen. Neben Schmusenummern gab es auch Hardrock ala Guns N' Roses zu hören, bevor dann zwei der Highlights des Abends folgten. Zum einen ein psychedilischer Acoustic Jam, abgewechselt mit Impro-Passagen, die einem Stevie Ray Vaughan zu seinem Besten Tagen alle Ehre machen. Im Anschluss spielte er ein fantastisches Cover von Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" vermengt mit ein paar Heartbreaker-Riffs! Wahnsinn!
Nach 2 Zugaben und 2h - Joe war fix und fertig - war der Zauber dann vorbei.
Ein paar kleine Kritikpunkte gibts aber doch noch, die Vocals waren sehr unausgeglichen abgemischt und es herrschten mal wieder sauna-ähnliche Temperaturen in der Tante Ju. Außerdem hat mein geliebtes "If Heartaches Were Nickels" in der ansonsten erstklassigen Setlist gefehlt.

Insgesamt mal wieder ein unvergesslicher Abend in der JU.

Ein Kommentar kann ich mir aber noch nicht verkneifen: Joe kam schon ein bisschen rüber, wie ein durchgeknallter Professor mit Artikulationsschwäche ;)

Fri 3 Apr – A Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan

Μουσικές προσωπικότητες όπως ο Νίκος Ντουνούσης, ο Ηλίας Ζάικος, ο Σωτήρης Ζήσης, ο Αλέξανδρος Αποστολάκης αλλά και όλα τα παιδιά στους Backbone και Blues Wire δεν χρειάζονται κανένα review για να διαφημιστούν ή να αποκτήσουν την αξία που οι ίδιοι με την ιστορία τους και την παρουσία τους έχουν ήδη κατακτήσει. Αλλά τιμώντας ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα ονόματα του τεξανού μπλουζ σε μια βραδιά γεμάτη από τα τραγούδια του, πρέπει, αν όχι τίποτε άλλο, να τους ευχαριστήσουμε που μας χαρίζουν τέτοιες συναυλίες-που ζωντανεύουν με απίστευτο μεράκι και ζηλευτό ταλέντο όσα κληρονομήσαμε από αυτόν τον κιθαριστικό θρύλο που λέγεται Stevie Ray Vaughan! Για τον Stevie Ray έχουν γραφεί τόσα πολλά από ανθρώπους πολύ πιο "διαβασμένους" από μένα, που η δική μου γνώμη περιττεύει. Θέλω μόνο να αναφέρω ότι είναι ένας από τους δύο κιθαρίστες στον κόσμο που κέρδισε μέσα στο ίδιο έτος (1982) τρία διαφορετικά βραβεία από το Guitar Player Reader's Poll Awards και ο πρώτος λευκός κιθαρίστας που κέρδισε δύο βραβεία από το W.C. Handy National Blues Awards (1984). Και είναι ο άνθρωπος για τον οποίο ο μεγάλος βασιλιάς του μπλουζ, B.B.King, έχει πει: "Όλοι έχουμε σκεφτεί κάποιες φορές τι πρέπει να παίξουμε... Ο Stevie έμοιαζε απλά να αφήνει τη μουσική να ρέει από μέσα του σαν ένα φυσικό ποτάμι..." Ακούσαμε μεταξύ των άλλων, τα "Pride and Joy", "Texas flood", "Superstition", "Cold shot", "Crossfire" με κορυφαία τα "Six strings down", "Mary had a little lamb", "Tin Pan Alley" και (προσωπική προτίμηση) "Shake for me". Δεν ξέρω πώς θα γυρνούσε ο πλανήτης αν δεν είχαν ακουστεί στον αέρα του οι νότες από την κιθάρα του Stevie Ray Vaughan (μάλλον πολύ πιο αργά και βαρετά!) αλλά σίγουρα, υπάρχουν κάποιοι που τον κρατάν στην μπλουζ τροχιά του, ακόμη και στην κατακαημένη, μπουζουκομάνα, νεοΕλλαδίτσα! Σας ευχαριστούμε Blues Wire και Backbone! Και σε χιλιοευχαριστούμε Stevie Ray-δεν θα σε ξεχάσουμε ποτέ, μα ποτέ!
υγ: ο κόσμος πάντως τίμησε δεόντως το ζωντανό αυτό αφιέρωμα!

- η δυσάρεστη έκπληξη: ίσως η επιλογή του setlist μπορούσε να ήταν καλύτερη σε κάποια σημεία... Μεταξύ μας, δεν παίζεις εύκολα Stevie Ray Vaughan χωρίς να υπάρξουν στιγμές που να αναρωτιέσαι αν μπορείς -καν- να το κάνεις!

And this month's theme was: Inheritance!

So what did I inherit from my parents musicwise? Well, lots of different sorts of music, really, especially my dad is still a heavy music fanatic, which is awesome. x)

The main period of music that both my parents were and are still into is mostly late 60's - early 70's.. which MAINLY includes prog and blues rock.
But when it comes down to inheriting songs: also peculiar tunes like catchy jazz (Django Reinhardt :]), or songs I was dancing to when I was still a toddler (Everybody Wants To Rule The World :D) are to be included, definitely.

The other half of this mixtape really describes me, it's pretty diverse I think, and I do love thinking about my own kids in the future checking out those songs. ^^

In the meantime, I quickly became a fan of another monthly mixtape artist, cthulubelle! :D
And he mentioned that he apreciated the artwork that I every time compile for my own mixes (thanks again especially to Buckobucko for the couple of neat illustrations!), and I both like his artwork he makes every time and the awesome taste in musics he has.

I downloaded his Short Song mix a couple of months ago (thinking that it would be worth it 'cause all the short song mixtapes don't hog in so much space lol), and loved it!

Therefore I made a mixtape specially for him, no theme involved. :]
