While I'm in sunny south Florida for the summer, I like to take rides on my bicycle. It's hot most of the time, but I like riding under the blue sky with the palm trees rustling in the wind.
Here are some things I listen to when I ride:
1.
bossa nova and
acid jazz- Makes me feel like I'm in the sur de France or Rio. Artists/songs include
Nouvelle Vague,
Hollywood, Mon Amour,
Koop,
Smoke City,
Zeep,
Nicola Conte and
Télépopmusik.
2.
White Light/White Heat - It just so happens that when I go for my usual ride, I finish almost exactly when Sister Ray trails off. Pretty cool.
3. Beachy-
Jack Johnson,
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole,
Bob Marley,
下村陽子 and a variety of reggae artists are perfect for sunny days.
4.
Felt Mountain - Once again, almost perfectly in sync with my ride. Strange music, like Cirque du Soleil meets Bristol sound.
5.
Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg - Nothing like some
18-39 to make the ride a little more fun.
6.
Morcheeba and
Skye - Enough said. Chillout music at it's finest.
7. Random tracks like
All the World Is Green and
La fille de l'iceberg put a smile on my face when I ride (which creeps out the neighbours).
8. Compilations like Late Night Tales by Nouvelle Vague and Back to Mine by Morcheeba include classic and new songs by lots of artists that all seem to work perfectly.
Just got back from my ride a few minutes ago, and I'll probably be getting a bike for Gainesville, when I go back to school. I'll probably discover some new tracks to add to my rides.
