What a long day! I got in line at about 4:30. Sadly, there was a smoker in front of me, and two potheads with a crackhead mom behind me. Bleh!
Doors opened at 6:00, and, to my dismay, the show didn't start until 7:00. Hour long wait? Ahh!!!
This was my third time seeing Foxy Shazam, and as expected, I hated them. Couldn't wait for them to get off the stage.
Second time seeing Sky Eats Airplane, and I really enjoyed their set. They were easily the heaviest band in the lineup. Apple in a group of oranges.
I was excited to see Dance Gavin Dance for my first time, but I was pretty disappointed with the screams. I'm super glad that they played Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most! It's been one of my favorite tracks these last few weeks so hearing live was a thrill.
I haven't seen Senses Fail since Warped Tour 2006, so it seemed like it was my first time seeing them. They put on a good show, but the singer seemed pretty sloppy in the beginning. I felt that he improved later in the set and finished strong. I was upset that they didn't play
Irony of Dying on Your Birthday but heard some other fun tunes.
Overall, my experience at the Glasshouse was fun. I picked up Sky Eats Airplane's self titled album and Senses Fail's new album. I'm looking forward to listening to them, but my ears are ringing! Ahh! -

I only saw August Burns Red because I got to the show so late, but even just them was worth the fifteen dollar ticket. Such an amazing show for them. After they played I met the bass player for Sky Eats Airplane and he was an amazingly nice dude. That night was awesome, and I can't wait for more shows from those two bands. -

So most of these bands i hadn't listened to all that much, but i thought this would be a decent show and it was pretty cheap (i paid less than 20 bucks to get in).
So me and my friend got there late and missed This or the Apocalypse, but thats fine, we get to see the other 4 bands.
Greeley Estates came on, and they weren't bad, but the mastering was pretty shitty, i couldn't really hear his vocals over the music. but whatever, it was fun, i was headbanging a bit to it.
then A Skylit Drive came on. i didn't realize they had a chick singer, not that thats a problem, but just caught me by surprise. they were pretty good. i loved their bassist, hes the guy that screams for them and he was having a good time up there on stage, not that the rest weren't, but he really caught my eye
next up was Sky Eats Airplane. I really enjoyed them, the production quality was better for them than anyone elses was. they were also more my style of music, so i enjoyed that. they were deff enjoying themselves onstage, which was fun to watch. they had a weird lighting for the show, which was my only real complaint until they last about 2 songs, when the mastering seemed to get worse. but overall, they were really good
finally, August Burns Red comes on. and right off the bat, i knew they were gonna be awesome, because their entrance was to like trance music (sorta like techno/dance). and then they come on with some hard riffs and Jake comes out screaming. it was awesome way to start. the production was 10x better for them, i could hear the vocals and nothing seemed to really clash. they put on an amazing show and i have a newfound respect for the band. all their songs were great, i was loving every moment of the show.
then after they were done, a bunch of the bands' members came out and talked with the fans, signed some autographs and took pics with them.
i met Jerry of SEA, Rick of TOTA, Ryan of Greeley Estates, and Jake of August Burns Red. i also got my picture with Jake, they were all cool dudes. and its really awesome when bands will go out and chill with their fans, it just shows you that they may be famous, but they still know how to hang out and have a good time.
it shows that they are down to earth and they haven't let the success get to them, and i really respect it when bands do that.
anyway, this was one of the better shows i've been to, i had a blast and i hope i can catch ABR again sometime. -
