O nome é uma homenagem à Irmã Hazel, uma mulher que comandou movimentos de ajuda a desamparados na Flórida.
De 1993 até hoje, eles têm 6 cd’s de estúdio. Seu último trabalho foi o Santa’s Playlist, feito em setembro de 2007.

It's amazing what you can do if you just change your mind. Ken Block, the lead singer/guitarist/cowriter, used to be a druggie and alchoholic after his younger brother Jett passed away from cancer. But then he got sober and clean, and wrote 'All For You'. Then, in 1994, Sister Hazel was born (this is my birthyear exactly. Serendipitous?) They were named after a nun Ken heard about when he was younger. She helped homeless people get cleaned up and fed. I wonder uf she's still alive, or if she heard of this... Anyway, Sister Hazel is my most favoritest band in the history of pretty much the world. They have alot to say, and seriously turned me around to this planet that has so much to offer, so much to wonder and be. My favorite song by them, which i love past the bounds of sanity, is Mandolin Moon. (PS if you haven't guessed already im a Hazelnut freak) Live on Luna

One of my favorite band from the 90s on. No doubt. Great to sing along with, too! Y'all have such great vocal harmonies - 5th voice every time. Are you related or what? Sounds like blood harmony to me.
