Mês passadoI just love every track up to the number 7, I also enjoy the next ones (8-10). Only "All Alright" is weak. I think "Heima" (the B-side to "Inní mér syngur vitleysingur" single) would be a better ending.

outubro 2009I listened to this album twice again a couple of days ago and I still can't find why it is so popular. Almost every track is completely soulless and repetitive (except Ara Batur and Festival, especially Ara Batur, which is awesome). It's definetely their worst album.

maio 2009I agree with Axie, This album can be less accessible than Takk, I however found Takk to be highly accessible with amazing tracks from start to end, like Gong and Glósóli. Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust is misleading, as the first few tracks are very cheerful and easy to listen to, and can create the misconception that they have just created a pop album! But if you were to take the time and listen to tracks such as Ára bátur and Festival, you would discover that this album hides two of Sigur Rós' brightest gems. I would never say it is better than another one of their albums, they are all amazing for their own reasons (Including Von, please give it a few listens and as Meta has said, you will understand why). I don't understand how people could accuse Sigur Rós of Selling out. the only similarity between this album and pop music really, is is that for the first time, Sigur Rós have made a jolly upbeat sound in a few of their tracks! Dear god no! They must be trying to sell it!

Axiemeister escreveu:
maio 2009"Besides, why change something which is perfect?" Because even perfection would get boring after six albums or so. Also, this album is hardly any more commercial than the others. In fact, I believe this is less accessible than Takk, especially the second half. Cheerful =/= "shallow pool of pop music". Not that pop is shallow, but alas.

deject escreveu:
abril 2009The last half of the album is an ambient masterpiece. It's not as lively or distinctive as the opening tracks, sure, but they serve a different purpose. Also, I can't help but think all of Sigur Rós' albums are pretty much equally brilliant, with the possible exception of Von. Ágætis Byrjun, ( ), Takk.. and this one are all totally brilliant.

gingerwitch28 escreveu:
abril 2009Yeah, the second half seems to lose it somehow... the songs all start to blend together in my mind. Great opener with Gobbledigook though.

março 2009Funny how people get mad when a band doesn't want to play the same style of music all their life. And how they're "selling out" because the music is more upbeat and cheerful.

março 2009Becoming pop =/= experimenting. Becoming pop means grabbing influences from shallow pool of pop music and losing the uniqueness. Besides, why change something which is perfect?
-
Axiemeister escreveu:
março 2009It is better than ( ) and as good as Takk, and of coruse miles better than Von. I hope they keep on growing and experimenting; sticking with one style for your entire career is just boring. I hope they never "go back" to any of their previous styles.
-

rramiel escreveu:
março 2009I don't understand all the positiveness... This is definetely the worst album by Sigur Rós (which DOESN'T mean it's bad) and I hope the style from ( ) will be back.
