Biografia

Having once been described as the “The Ultimate Halloween Band”, Seraphim Shock is a Denver-based project that is the brainchild of singer/songwriter/guitarist/programmer Charles Edward. In a world full of manufactured bands that do what they’re told and chase the record labels “flavor of the week”, Seraphim Shock stands proud with it’s middle finger raised! From the bands early Goth roots to the Hard Rock’n hybrid that it is today, Seraphim Shock continues to captivate people from all walks of life with it’s infectious hooks and dark overtones. The quality of S.S. works speak for themselves and one needs only to look at the reviews they have garnered over the years.

Tripod, you know jack shit when it comes to the facts about SS. The only member fired was my former bassist who wrote guess what... nothing! Do you know who the original guitarist (Red Silk Vow) is? Greg is my brother asshat! FYI he engineered and mixed Black Heart Revival. I've written every song SS has ever released. Ask the "core" members LOL. I didn't play it safe and give you Red Silk Vow 2, 3 and 4. I used different studios, different gear and took different approaches to writing. I could give a fuck less if you like me personally but don't hide behind your keyboard and post a bunch of bogus info as fact. Yeah, I took my sweet ass time between albums. I launched a personal training business, built my recording studio, wrote Black Heart Revival, recorded another full length CD with Florian Ammon (Rammstein, U2), won 3 bodybuilding titles, performed in theatre, moved to LA, got involved in TV production as well as went to war with a label that handcuffed SS! Get the fuck over it!!!

My take on it is that every band has to evolve, I would be bored if it was the same shit over and over again. I think Torn and Anna are the two best songs, Buried is nice, and so is Down Home. I hear he is remixing all the old tracks for a special compilation album, at least thats what their new facebook page is saying (seraphim shock official)

What can I say... I totally agree with you Tripod. I might just add that NftB is also pleasing. I like those two, RSV and NftB the best:)

Better than Red Silk Vow? Wow, I don't see that every being possible no matter who makes the album. Even if Switchblade Symphony returned from the grave... RSV is just in a different league, that album is gothic metal on steroids, I don't even know how to describe it but orgasmic for your ears.

Ok BHR maybe isn't want i expected... after such a long time i probably expected something better then RSV and HSV combined. Nevertheless BHR is a good album on it's own. Not as good as previous ones but still a GOOD one. After listening to it for a couple of weeks i can say now that i really do like it and as it seemed a bit disappointing at the beginning, now it is not.

I am also dissapointed in the new album. I had high expectations, but the new album didn't deliver..

So the new album is about what I expected, similar to HSV. It is only 10 tracks and clocks in at under 40 minutes, a little disappointing. I wish Charles would revert back to Red Silk Vow days. That album was a game changer in its genre, and only Serpentine Gallery by SS can rival that album in that genre in that decade. 2.5 out of 5 stars for Black Heart Revival and thats being nice, trust me.
