Reggae from Kingston...Ontario...AS IN CANADA...and fucking awesome...if "12:59 Lullaby" doesn't affect you, there's something wrong with you....
3) Black Lab - See the Sun
Why Black Lab is not ridiculously huge, I'll never understand...these guys are INDIE, but can write catchier songs than anyone on the radio, hands down...their songs have been used in TV, movies, etc...the important part is the emotion in Paul Durham's voice...extremely heartfelt, every song on "See the Sun" is perfect....
4) Colony- Siren
Shortlived band from Missouri in the late nineties, with mid-period R.E.M. and BoDeans influences..."Go" is one of the most bittersweet songs I've ever heard - and one of my all-time favorites....
5) Ruth Ruth - Are You My Friend?
NYC alternative-punk (?) band that has written some of the best lyrics EVER...with a front man whose voice can't really be compared to anyone, and songs too catchy and well-written for "punk"....
