Run-D.M.C. (ou Run DMC), foi uma das bandas pioneiras de hip hop fundada por Jason “Jam-Master Jay” Mizell, Joseph “DJ Run” Simmons e Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels. O grupo teve um enorme impacto no desenvolvimento do hip hop nos anos 80. Os três membros cresceram na vizinhança de Hollis, na cidade de Nova York. A sigla D.M.C. provém de Disco Mix Club, antiga convenção pós-Zulu Nation de DJ’s e MC’s que visava propagar o Hip Hop.
O Run DMC nasceu ouvindo a música Walk This Way do Aerosmith e depois de uns anos quando o sucesso do Aerosmith estava muito baixo eles regravaram essa música juntos, rendendo um bom sucesso.
