Uno se aburre un dia enfrente al PC, se da de alta en una página de internet y no imagina las consecuencias de lo que está haciendo ...

Protection fue el primer album de trip que me compré original, hace como unos 10 años, me quedé tan contento que luego vinieron el resto (Blue Lines, Mezzanine y 100th Window).

Un dia en Madrid, le dije a alguien que me encantaba Massive Attack y me dijo que había otro grupo muy bueno, Portishead y me dejó algo de música para escuchar a ver que tal. Feliz, muy feliz ...

Luego conocí a Najwajean y su No Blood me pareció sublime y ahí me quedé estancado durante muuuuuchooo tiempo (debe de ser por esto que a los discos originales que tengo solo les queda el papel jeje). Es realmente una lástima la bazofia comercial a la que somos sometidos y que buenos artistas sigan estando en el cuarto oscuro.

Con internet la cosa fue mejorando, y aparecieron en mi colección Hooverphonic, Lamb, Tricky o Morcheeba.

Pero la eclosión ha llegado desde que me registré en esta página. Estilos diferentes, pero rara es la semana que no tengo algo nuevo de alguien nuevo para escuchar. Es increible. Maravilloso.

Every minute of this selection of music is pure gold, and I'm grateful for the find as I haven't really been impressed with what I've heard from dZihan & Kamien's Couch Records. The few releases I have bought were worth the purchases, but still are hit and miss. As for Schema releases, I thoroughly enjoy every track on every album I have.

I'll now pay full-price for any Schema release I find in the future, but so far not a single one of them has cost me more than AUS$10, and that truly is amazing.

This is not really a post, but Im always making lists of the Bands/Artists I need to check out (always on the look for new shite!)

Rosalia de Souza
Her album [album artist=Rosalia De Souza]Garota Moderna was produced by that wonderful italian DJ/composer/arranger/producer Nicola Conte.

Gartoa Moderna is a smooth and up tempo trip through the soft flowing world of Bossa Nova. De Souza has a warm and calming voice, and sings in an assuming tone similar to Babel Gilberto, and Julie London. This has all the good hallmarks of Conte's Bossa Per Due (aka Jet Sounds) album, with a more consistent feel to support De Souza. I love this album, I had to wait till the last song rolled through it's final seconds before I could finally go to sleep (4am here).

Jorge Ben
When I first heard the first two tracks on my friends I fell in love with them. But, it was a fleeting love where the assumption was I'd never know who was singing. It was what seemed like a mix of latin and soul. When I talked to my friend the other day he actually had the track list from when he burned the disc on his computer. The artist was Jorge Ben, a brizillian soul artist.

OV Wright
Another great artist from my friends mix CD. Hey! He's a good DJ too.. this is no coincidence. OV Wright is a passionate southern soul singer. There's some great songs here like Born All Over and You're Gonna Make me Cry.


There's some other great stuff on this mix CD. Including a strange yet inviting country-folk rendition of We're Not Going to Take It by Pigeon-Hole, who was described as an area band that may or may not still be around. Ironically what lead to him actually giving me this CD was the Die Krupps song that started playing. We were both rhyming off industrial band names trying to spark his memory as to what it was. OH, the life of a music addict... Good thing there's portable players.. I'd definitely get caught jacking up in some dark alley that happned to have an electrical outlit and a place to set a record player.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, in 1988 she arrives in Rome, Italy to study music (jazz, percussion, singing). In 1994 she meet the italian DJ and producer Nicola Conte, and works with him in the album "Novo Esquema De Bossa" of Quintetto X. In 2003 she releases her first solo album, "Garota moderna", produced by Conte. Her second album is "Brasil precisa balancar". Made in 2006, it has a stronger bossa background, still using nu-jazz sound and style.
