Rob Dickinson (born July 23, 1965) is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter previously of the band Catherine Wheel. He is now a solo artist. Dickinson was raised in Norfolk, England, and is the cousin of Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson.
While a member of Catherine Wheel from 1990 to 2000, Dickinson proved himself as a talented songwriter and soulful vocalist. However, after the 2000 release of Catherine Wheel’s last album, Wishville, the group disbanded with little fanfare.
Dickinson leads a relatively private life and little is known about his activities in the years following Catherine Wheel’s breakup. In recent interviews he confirmed that he designs custom automobiles, a known pursuit of Dickinson’s prior to his musical career.
Dickinson contributed vocals to two tracks on the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex album, Life Begins Again, which was released in January 2005. Dickinson returned to the music scene in September 2005 with the release of his debut solo album, Fresh Wine for the Horses. The album includes tracks written by Dickinson while a member of Catherine Wheel, as well as newer material. The release was supported by a tour of small venues across the United States and Canada, where Dickinson performed intimate acoustic sets comprised of both Catherine Wheel and solo material.
In February 2006, Rob discussed his new solo record and his career with Catherine Wheel in an insightful interview with Auralgasms.com prior to his solo set in Ferndale, Michigan.

I had reported back in Feb. of '07 that I had seen the man perform... I saw him again last night (opening for the incredible Neverending White Lights) & he was just as brilliant as before & I had the pleasure of meeting him after the show!! WOOT. Got his autograph & gushed a bit, as I'm sure you can all imagine. ;) He was very warm & friendly. An unforgettable night indeed.

Just got in the door from his gig here in Toronto. Absolutely incredible acoustic set. Did all the same great tunes as at the show sfegette attended. Wonderful voice, energy and spirit. I had forgotten what a great performer Mr. Dickinson is as I hadn't seen him since the early 90's with Catherine Wheel. Just fantastic! :)

Just caught Rob's solo show at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco - OMG, he rocked the house, playing highlights off his new solo album alongside Catherine Wheel faves (Heal, Crank, Black Metallic, I Want to Touch You) and gave us the option of My Solituda vs. Future Boy (which won out) for the encore. Brilliant gig, in a really small, intimate venue. A must see- he was on fire!
