discovered this 6 years ago when I was in high school, still one of the greatest things I've ever heard. very well may be my favorite album of all time. I get swoony every time I listen.

Definitely the weakest of the Holy Shoegaze Primary Color Trinity (with MBV's Loveless and Catherine Wheel's Ferment), and it ain't got nothin' on Souvlaki, either. The drumming here is brilliant, but the vocals are average to awful.

This is honestly such an amazing album. It actually seemed so aggressive, wild and unknown to me when I first found it. Well, it was a while ago and I wasn't that accustomed to any kind of distortion. But this was always a flawless album to me.

I think this is the coolest cover of any album ever.(2)

The rhythm section on this album is pretty massive, as they say. Not sure how I didn't notice it before... The drums are all over the place, in a good way, and the bass player is off doing his own innovative stuff too. Throw in the other elements, like the production, and you've got a classic.

Ah, one of my first shoegaze albums (this and Lush's "Gala"), which I bought in 1992, when I was in tenth grade. Still stands, and will always stand, the test of time.
