Thu 5 Nov – The Devil Wears Prada, Your Demise, Jesaiah
First of I just want to take the opportunity to heed out a warning that my english isn't the best. There, I warned you.
A night with three bands that I don't know that well and haven't listened to especially much, so I didn't have any high expectations. But this is how it goes!
First out was a band, unknown to me, named
Jesaiah, apparently from Stockholm, Sweden. They played a mix of hardcore and metal, pretty decent. Unfortunately the sound of the microphone was pretty bad, so from time to time you couldn’t hear the vocalist, and sometimes the vocalist just couldn’t keep up with the others in the band, which was a bummer. All in all it was a decent performance. They went in with a lot of energy and the movement of the crowd was pretty good during the set, though they didn’t impress me really.

Next up were
Your Demise, a band from the south of the United Kingdom, which play some straight up hardcore tunes. First time I heard of them were a couple of weeks back when they supported
Raised Fist during the ‘Veil of Ignorance’-tour, though that gig didn’t really grab me as much as this one did. The vocalist, Ed McRae, started off with a lot of energy and the rest of the band followed. Unlike [event=]the gig[/event] when the supported
Raised Fist, this time everyone gets into it and there is a lot more movement in the crowd. This was most likely because a lot of the people knew the band this time in comparison to their last gig in Gothenburg.
Ed kept on encouraging circle pits, crowd surfing and stage diving throughout the set, which really kept the crowd going. Awesome shit right there. People climbing on each other, people actually crowd surfed a bit (first time seeing that in Sweden) and some serious pit action. The only downside was the fact that the sound of the microphone sometimes disappeared. If this was due to vocalist Ed’s microphone handling or bad equipment is still unknown.
For those of you that don’t have their latest album:
Ignorance Never Dies, buy it or download it, Ed’s own words. So just do it and catch them next time they play in a town close to you, and perhaps buy some merch, like I did.

Finally it was time for the night’s main event;
The Devil Wears Prada from Dayton, Ohio, United States. But hey, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Vocalist Mike Hranica gets down to business from the start. With even more energy than the previous bands,
The Devil Wears Prada totally tore the place apart and the crowd went absolutely mad. This time they didn’t need any encouragement, most of the crowd turns into a giant pit with everyone going everywhere. So awesome to watch when these things go down.
The band kept their energy throughout the set and toward the end you could see that the crowd was getting a bit tired. But it didn’t stop them from going absolutely mad when
The Devil Wears Prada launched their final song. It’s was beautiful.
Rating: 4.5/5.
If I only know the songs better they would probably have gotten a straight 5, but well yeah.
It was a truly enjoyable evening, and I will most likely check out at least
Your Demise and
The Devil Wears Prada’s records to get into them a bit more until next time. It’s nights like this you fucking live for.
