It's election week in Great Britain with only days to go till we find out if we have a new leader or not.
I was going to pick Radiohead - Electioneering at first, then I thought maybe I should go for ABBA - The Winner Takes It All, but with tactical voting threatening the status quo causing some to call for a reformation of the entire voting process, it didn't look like there would even be a clear winner, just leaders making deals with each other. So that wouldn't do.
A little hunting in Last.fm unearthed this little treasure. It was written in 1950 after Clement Atlee’s victory in the first general election ever after a full term of a Labour government. (wikipedia)

Fev 23 2010, 15h42 por amodelofcontrolA slightly more light-hearted TT this week, one that's been in the works since the recent Christmas number one (Rage Against The Machine's Killing in the Name, lest we forget) and hearing nothing but cowbell, it seems, in much of the Winter Olympics coverage in the past week or so, made this appropriate. Also, tools exist to add cowbell to any song you like, but today I'm looking at ten songs that perhaps already have more than enough. And don't worry, this list does not feature Blue Öyster Cult...
a shared Spotify playlist, here. Feel free to add other songs that feature cowbell. And also, yes, we can argue the finer points of what is cowbell and what isn't, but if it sounds like it, it can go in...]
From one of the albums that confirmed the use of sampling as an artform, here's one of the many highlights. Like the rest of the album, picking out all the samples would take all sodding night, but anyway, that's not the point here. This is all about the funky beats, that guitar line. …

Radiohead - OK Computer
Radiohead, to me, is like the musical equivalent of Stanley Kubrick movies. This album has massive melodies and a chilling atmosphere for you to lose yourself in. It is both elegant and "out there". Sure, Thom Yorke sounds like a dying animal at all times, but his vocal style fits with the songs he creates. And the ending of Paranoid Android must be one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard.

Jun 9 2008, 10h46 por JuchmakoYeah, I saw someone doing this too. I thought I should give it a try. You should copy the questions, put in the song you listen to, and answer.
A comment after the game: I wasn't very satisfied with the shuffle today. Few of my favourite bands. But I didn't skip a single song!
01. Which song do you prefer, Stockholm Syndrome by Muse or Behind the Drapes by Mew?
None of them are like my favourite, but I'd say Stockholm Syndrome.
02. Have you ever listened to Bedshaped by Keane on repeat?
Yes, I think so.
03. What album is Satisfaction by Benny Benassi from?
I don't have a clue xD
04. What do you think about the artist who did Cheer's Darlin'?
Damien Rice makes nice music, but his lyrics are so sad. They make me cry.
05. Is Immortal by The Rasmus one of your favourite songs?
I really really loved that song some years ago *getting nostalgic* But it's not a favourite anymore.
06. Who does Sofa Song by The Kooks remind you of?
