Sobre este álbum
O álbum Atom Heart Mother,foi gravado nos Abbey Road Studios,em 1970.Este impressionante e ousado álbum possui uma suite instrumental dividida em 6 partes e de aproximadamente 23 minutos,sendo esta executada com uma orquestra.O álbum,que mostrava o “novo” Pink Floyd,pós-barret,também tinha “Alan’s Psychelic Breakfast”,outro grande destaque do long-play,sendo esta um instrumental dividido em 3 partes,com diálogos entre cada parte. Ainda tem as faixas “If”,”Fat Old Sun” e a composição do Rick Wright,”Summer 68”.É um álbum cheio de elementos do rock progressivo,que se firmava na decada de 70,e com uma das mais famosas capas do rock mundial,com esta simpática vaca.Uma obra completa,nos moldes do rock progressivo setentista e no nível da banda.Ainda,este álbum influenciou bandas como Rush e Yes,com todo o seu progressivismo e o virtuosismo demonstrado nas músicas.No entanto,é um álbum incompreendido por muitos por ser um álbum complexo e de dificil audição,porém,é uma obra prima do Pink Floyd e ainda tem significante importância no cenário do Rock.

Mesmo para um fã da banda, “Atom Heart Mother” é um trabalho denso e torna suas músicas impenetraveis para os ouvintes menos requintados. Mas, por outro lado o álbum é uma obra de arte em toda sua produção, e faz uma viagem no mais alto nível da criativade no mundo da música progressiva, misturando coros, trompas, violinos com guitarras e sintetizadores o ainda jovem Pink Floyd inicia os anos 70 com a espetacular música tema de 23 minutos. O álbum segue com a linda “If”, composição de Roger Waters, que já começa a mostrar uma nova personalidade como vocalista. A intensa “Summer of 69” de Rick Wright com um perfil muito mais feliz do que as demais músicas, e a hoje clássica “Fat Old Sun”, de Gilmour fecham a parte das canções do álbum, que finaliza com a diferente “Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast”, parceria do grupo com o engenheiro Alan Parsons. O simpático disco da “Vaquinha” tem lugar de honra garantido na história da música do século XX.

awesome album. simple trippy cover, and music from this one on reminds me of soundtrack "more" which included hedonistic and psychedelic acoustic melodic songs which you could play on your computer,or better, listen to this vinyl, lay down on you bed and wander around.

What I find funny is reading the quotes by the members of the band concerning this album "Yeah its just a big mess" - Gilmour. "Hate it, wouldnt play any of it live, I dont know what we were doing." - Waters. Still a great album though, I love If and Summer '68

This album is great, I love tracks 1, 3 and 5. The problem is many people don't like instrumentals and therefore think the album is crap, but it definitely isn't, it rocks :).
