The Boom Boom Dance Video Rises To #1 On MTVMusic.com Top 100 In First Week
Set 14 2009, 18h58 por musicdish

TheVine Records/Indie Extreme group, Chitlins, are celebrating their first week on MTVmusic.com with a meteric rise to #1 on the Top 100. The video heralding the new dance craze, The Boom Boom, debuted in the Top 100 on Saturday, Sept 5 at #91, jumped to #10 by Sunday morning, shot to #2 by Monday, sliding into the #1 spot on Tuesday morning.
“It’s been like Christmas every time we wake up, the momentum is incredible!” said Chitlins, “We are happy to see that people are embracing the song, the sound and the new what’s happenin’!”
The buzz-generating band is fronted by innovative New York-based artist Excite, a multi-talented player who draws upon both his rich musical history and dramatic acting chops to inject energetic creativity to the mesmerizing mix of The Boom Boom Dance. Various associations led him to a fateful meeting with well-respected, gold record-scoring producer Lee Stone (Pharoahe Monch, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Method Man), and creative fusion occurred in the best possible way. The mighty twosome did well-received work for esteemed Blue Note Records with jazz great and Grammy nominated Ronny Jordan, thrilling crowds at BET Jazz fests across the country. As Excite continued to develop his own voice he eventually began to post his own material on Myspace, where the buzz quickly grew for the new artist with the irresistible groove.
That buzz drew the attention of TheVine Records president Mario Costabile, founder of New Jersey-based Vine Music Publishing, an influential new company whose catalogue spans the spectrum from Pop and Rock to R&B, Jazz and Latin to Gospel. Their 25 years of experience in video and audio production, Costabile brings his practiced skill-set to the video production of The Boom Boom Dance, and it shows in the film’s crystal-like clarity and rock-solid production values.
The urban groove and Excite’s soulful delivery kicks things into a 21st century feel, even as the bouncy lyrics reference popular dances of the past, including the Jerk, the Monkey, and even the Macaroni. It’s all good in The Boom Boom, and if you’re not up on your feet in the first 60 seconds, check for a heartbeat. Look for The Boom Boom to make its presence known in a big way in the months ahead at clubs, parties, and weddings, as its interactive element takes the country by storm.

Organized Konfusion reunites with a surprise guest
Ago 2 2009, 19h57 por miketao
It's a damn shame Organized Konfusion isn't a household name. It's rare to find one, let alone two superior emcees in any group these days, but Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po are unquestionably two of the all-time greats. The bigger question is usually who is the better emcee of the two, but I won't get into that because, despite the pouring rain, this was the performance I was looking forward to the most at All Points West. No disrespect to The Pharcyde, Q-Tip or Jay-Z, but I've seen all of them multiple times in the past ten years. This was the first show Monch and Po have performed together in the past twelve years, and now backed by theX-Ecutioners DJ Boogie Blind, die-hard fans nodded their heads in appreciation as they came out to 9Xs Out of 10:

Monch and Po traded verses throughout the show like they'd be touring non-stop for years, even quieting rumors about any "supposed" beef among the two, even mentioning love for O.C., who first appeared on their classic,
Fudge Pudge. I was hoping they were building up a surprise guest appearance and once they did perform "Fudge Pudge," O.C. indeed was introduced and spit his verse while the crowd, myself included, was going nuts in the rain.
But he didn't stop there folks. O.C. proceeded to drop his all-time classic
Time's Up, and I officially lost my mind. I got so caught up in the moment, I completely forgot to take pics and the rain was not conducive to phone twittering at all.
After a few more joints, I had to take cover in one of the tents and enjoy the rest of the show from a distance as they continued to keep heads noddin' with more classics like Bring It On,
Stress and Monch's solo classic,Simon Says. Definitely my most memorable moment from the fest so far. -

Podsumowanie słowem pisanym:
Pierwsza piątka mniej więcej utrzymała się na tym samym poziomie i jestem tym w miarę zaskoczony. Jedynie Jamiroqaui i Korn zamienili swoje miejsca, a nastąpiło to niedawno, bo w okolicach marca.
mixtape -- you are my third favourite thing in the world
Mai 23 2009, 7h00 por dystemper
"you are my favourite thing in the world" is probably one of my top 5 favourite lines i like to use on pretty girls i just met when they do something marginally cute/adorable.
with that said, some new stuff -- disc 1 is primarily hip hop/turntablism/glitch, and disc 2 is bass-heavy trip hop, smokey lounge, and a little pop.
