Blitzed
Sun 19 Apr – Lenny Kravitz
I went to see
Lenny Kravitz the 19th of April, in Antwerp, never having seen him before.
Only knowing about 5 or 6 songs, i thought, why the hell not & got me a ticket, and i gotta admit, i'm glad i did.
Unlike the usual heavy metal & hard rock i listen to, Lenny Kravitz seems like the odd duck in the bunch, but rest assured, there'll be more odd ducks ;)
So how was the show you'll be wondering, well, it was pretty damn great, (unlike the 'DJ' that came on stage before Lenny, but then again, i have a dislike for most DJ's...), it was cool to finally hear "
Are You Gonna Go My Way" live, and while on average the show was abit too sugarry for me, i had a great time!

Wed 22 Apr – Bob Dylan
Ahh....
Bob Dylan, what can i say about him? This guy has been going on strong for decades now, and he's still doing it.
He's also the only artist i know whom i can't understand a word of, but still enjoy, but still, hearing classics like "
Like A Rolling Stone" and "
All Along The Watchtower" was a great experiance.
As usual, i came armed with a camera:

Thu 30 Apr – Tina Turner Live European Tour at Sportpaleis
We Don't Need Another Hero,
Private Dancer,
The Best,... the list of hits goes on for what seems like forever,
Tina Turner is a monument in the music world, and i'm glad i've gotten to see her live.
The energy this lady has is amazing, she might not be tall, but once she's on the stage, she's bigger then life!
To the poor sods who never gotten to see her life, i have pictures!:

Fri 1 May – Sweet
"We want
Sweet! We want Sweet!" these words have been shouted out for many a year during this awesome band's carrier, dating back to the seventies, they created some truely magestic pieces of music.
Songs like "
Ballroom Blitz", "
Fox On The Run", "
Little Willy" & "
Wig-Wam Bam" are all classics, and songs that should be in your library!
When i heard that Sweet was coming to Belgium i just had to be there, and eventhough the band's line-up isn't the same anymore (the only remaining original member being Andy Scott) they put on a fun show in the small 'Spirit of 66', and i'm itching to see them again!

Mon 4 May – Skinny Molly
Untill afew weeks ago, i had never heard of
Skinny Molly before, so when last.fm suggested this gig to me, i was curieus, who were these guys?
Mike Estes (ex-
Lynryd Skynyrd) is the founding member of the band, and they play southern rock, and they play it well, and they really need to release more materials, because this nut here wants more! Check out "
Whiskey, Cocaine And Blues" and "
Miss Fortune" for starters & support these guys!

Thu 7 May – Therapy?, Wallace Vanborn
Now this was a blast from the past! I haven't seen
Therapy? since 2003 or so, and i honestly haven't been listening to them lately, but i had not forgotten them, so when i received word from the 'Ancienne Belgique' that Therapy? was coming, i had to be there!
The show was amazing, the crowd was wild & alive, and the music amazing! Oh, and the blow-up sexdoll was a cool touch too!

Fri 8 May – Durbuy Rock Festival
Crematory!
Turisas!
Peter Pan Speedrock! Those three names were all it took to make me pack my bags & head on down to Durbuy, for the very first time, to visit Durbuy Rock Festival.
The first band i watched was
Kells, a goth metal band i had never heard of before, but they weren't bad, not bad at all, after watching Kells i decided to take a gander on
Ramon Zarate, another band i never heard of before, and i gotta admit, i liked what i heard there aswell.
After Ramon Zarate came Turisas, and these guys are bloody f'cking awesome! I saw them for the first time when they were touring with
DragonForce, and i've been keeping an eye on their tour shedule ever since!
After the madness that is Turisas, it was time for a little breather, and then came Peter Pan Speedrock, who simply rocked again! The band that came after Peter Pan Speedrock was
Moonspell, but i only cought a small part of their show, i had to eat & get ready for what came later...
By now, the dark of night was creeping in, and Crematory was setting up the stage for their show. These guys are the biggest reason why i decided to go, i've been a fan of them for ages now, but never managed to actually see them life, but no more, they finally came back to Belgium!
The only thing i didn't understand about Durbuy Rock is why everybody kept giving me beer, the locals, Peter Pan Speedrock & even Crematory all shared their beers with lil' old me :D
