Mythical & Magical is indeed very magical. Alan Jones plays like a lost bastard son of Blackmore. Vocals can be a bit creepy but getting used to it everytime more and more when listening to the album. But it's a unique voice like Mark Shelton has.

Pagan Altar aren't anywhere near as influential as Priest or Sabbath obviously. But the musical quality is about the same for me.

The musical quality is just as good as Sad Wings. The Ripper can be compared to tracks like Judgement of the Dead.

GravelessSouls. I like Pagan Altar but that's just bull. Sad Wings of Destiny was ahead of it's time in so many more ways than Volume 1 could ever hope to be. The same can be said for Paranoid. Not only in influence but seriously you can't compare classic tracks like The Ripper to the stuff Pagan Altar has done. They are a good band (and underrated) but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
