Out Hud era uma banda electro formada em 1996 na Bay Area da Califórnia e mais tarde se mudaram para Nova York. A banda era constituída pelo guitarrista Nic Offer, baixista Tyler Pope, violoncelista Molly Schnick, vocalista/baterista Phyllis Forbes e o mixer Justin Van Der Volgen. Pope, Offer, e Van Der Volgen também são membros da banda !!!. Seu primeiro álbum, S.T.R.E.E.T. D.A.D. foi instrumental. Para o segundo álbum, Let Us Never Speak Of It Again, o grupo adicionou um vocalista para suas músicas, com Forbes cantando e tocando bateria e Schnick nos backing vocals.
Logo após o lançamento do segundo álbum foi anunciado que Pope não iria acompanhar a banda na turnê, e iria focar-se mais na banda de dance-punk de James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem. Foi então anunciado em setembro de 2005 que o show em Nova York poderia ser o último show da banda
Molly Schnick está trabalhando com Rafael Cohen, na banda Supersystem, em um projeto desconhecido.
A música “How Long” fez parte da trilha sonora do filme Eu Sei Quem Me Matou estrelando Lindsay Lohan.
