Yes I have some things to do but I don't want to, so I'm writing another meme-like blog XD

1. How did you get into 29? Evanescence
From the theatrical trailer of Daredevil xD I listened to Bring Me To Life in the radio too, but never paid it much attention until I knew Going Under. That was when I decided to listen to them.

Don't really remember ^^U

Out in the Real World without any doubt.

I like both of her albums almost the same!! I should say Carmine Meo because my most favourite song, Cuor Senza Sangue is from it =P

My New [slightly lesser known] Artists discovered in 2006

I bought sooooo much from amazon last year, so much so, that perhaps it wasnt a good idea for me to be let loose on the site. and so i don't miss out on the awesome european releases and limited editions, i'm now shopping on amazon.de and amazon.fr ... anyhow, maybe this year i'll settle down a tad. a tad.
Anyway, i haven't even been on lastfm for a year yet, that birthday will be in august. some new artists i have yet to play. Ophelia's Dream Stabat Mater just arrived today ...
Here are a list of new-to-me artists i discovered in the year that was 06.

Dark Sanctuary - my sister found this band, i guess it was on Amazon, i'm not sure. A wonderful French band, classical and very female vocally driven, to me it gives off such a dark/medieval/ethereal feel .. The first song i ever loved was L'Autre Monde. Now I love Night Rain, and especially Je M'en Irai and Perdition. There are still many songs that I've yet to listen to.

Frolic - If ever you could find a soundtrack to your dreams, the two albums by Frolic [Permafrost & To Dream, Perchance to Sleep] would have to be it. Ethereal and soothing, it sounds like a river running through a golden wood, or a whisper in the wind, snow melting into spring, its so natural, pure, calming and beautiful .. it really something extraordinary.

Conjure One - I've been listening to a lot of Delerium this year, and I've also tried to get a lot of their older work, to accompany my 2 archives. Conjure One are similar music to the newer Delerium, (as its by one of the two blokes from there). I find it very cheerful, lighthearted music, great range of female vocals and theres not a bad track on their first album.

Sleepthief - Another combination of female artists, a lot have also featured in Delerium, Conjure One and/or Balligomingo but Sleepthief breathes a freshness of talent on all levels, very pleasing to the ear, pretty, and some wonderful songs here.

Helium Vola - I don't know how to quite explain this band. Medieval, unique, weird, cold, dark, lonely ... mysterious. Through this year, when i first discovered them, i've listened and listened to really see if i like the music.
The answer is yes, definately. Once you get around the fact that there is such a difference between this and just about anything you've heard before. Its really quite charming and uplifting, especially the tracks "Selig", "Do Tagte Ez" and "Du Bist Min" .. wow.

Dargaard - I only own their first album, [second is on the way] i thought that if i bought them one by one, starting from the start, i'd have a good idea ...
The vocals in this are some of the greatest, Elizabeth Toriser has such a strong and wonderful voice, the music just seems to compliment her. Darkwave and powerful.. "Down to the Halls of the Blind" has simply engulfed me ..

Female Fronted Metal bands

I've started this again! From now on, I will try to keep up with your recommendations :).
I made a list of metal bands with a clean female lead-singer.What there may be:
-female clean vocals
-male growls
-male clean vocals
What there may not be:
-female growls
Of course, not all bands may be considered metal. However, I will decide whether I think something belongs on this list or not. This list is meant for anyone interested in the genre and some bands may be interesting to them. Like, for example, The Birthday Massacre. They're not metal, but it is interesting to those into ffmetal.

Searching for bands to start with?
For those of you that want to explore new genres or kinds, I made some bands bold. Those bands are rather good to start with. Also, you might want to check out the following compilation cd's:

-Gothic Spirits
These cd's contain a very diverse list of artists, so you can try which artists you like. Not all of the songs are necessarily with female vocals, but most are.
