Oceansize é uma banda britânica de rock progressivo formada em Manchester, Inglaterra, em 1998. Tendo realizado turnê com bandas como The Cooper Temple Clause, Cave In, People In Planes, Aereogramme, Mclusky, Biffy Clyro, Porcupine Tree e Serafin, destacam-se na cena musical de Manchester, e uma recente popularidade internacional. As influências da banda variam em The Beach Boys, Black Sabbath, Can, Cardiacs, Jane’s Addiction, Verve, Swervedriver, Tool e Tortoise. Alguns comparam o som da banda ao Pink Floyd, outra grande influência, assim como Mogwai e My Bloody Valentine.
Em 4 de dezembro de 2005 a banda anunciou que o baixista Jon Ellis estava saindo da banda, mas ainda contribuindo musicalmente. Em 28 de janeiro de 2006 o líder da banda Mike Vennart anunciou detalhes sobre o substituto de Ellis, conhecido somente como Steve.
Em 4 de dezembro de 2005 a banda anunciou que o baixista Jon Ellis estava saindo da banda, mas ainda contribuindo musicalmente. Em 28 de janeiro de 2006 o líder da banda Mike Vennart anunciou detalhes sobre o substituto de Ellis, conhecido somente como Steve.

I absolutely adore this band, for me they just have it all! Once when seeing them live a guy told me he had to leave the room because it was all too much for him to take in =/. I think it was a support slot they were playing, because a lot of the crowd weren't really feeling them until they played ornament/last wrongs as the ender. People must have noticed that I was familiar with the songs because after they had finished everyone was turning to me asking "what was that song called? where can I find it?!" Good times...

Only one thing thats bad for me about oceansize is that when I listen to them I get so thrilled I just cant wait to listen to all the other great songs they have made... they just do things beyond perfection

These guys tour all over Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, and they're avoiding Belgium for some obscure reason, which is strange, because there's a lot of fans over here. I mean come on, a few months ago 65dos and oceansize in Netherlands. IN ONE EVENING. For like €18... Do you even know what I would do for that?
