S.Maharba’s Banu Mixtape for Error Broadcast compiles the most adventurous beat music you can find to date. Dirty L.A. is featured with Juj, Kutmah, Durlin Lurt and Leaving Records boss Matthewdavid. Aeed, ichiro_ and OL from our team make another appearance, as well as EB future wunderkind iL. UK stands tall with Kato, Young Montana? and shooting stars Forest Swords. Most tracks are condensed to the very essence, looped and blurred into each other while S.Maharba lavishly embraces everything from Progressive Rock to reverb-laden Ambient: this is what makes this mix one of the best we had in a long, long while.

The Earforce crew, straight outta Lund, has record bags filled like bank robbers, and are more than willing to share them with you! This time the bass is the first point of interest in the show, followed by the funkiest, jazziest stuff we're legally allowed to play on the radio. Blissed-out beat heads will get their fair share towards the end of the show, with some hazy, organic beats very fitting for an autumn night.
MAUS has provided the good-looking artwork as usual, take the time to check it out!
If you have a song you think would sound on our show, send it to us, we love hearing new stuff!
1. Kay Suzuki - Move on (ft. Duchy) (Round In Motion)
2. Commix - Change (A Made Up Sound remix) (Metalheadz)
3. LowmaX - Rivale (Bukez Finezt remix) (forthcoming Biggerdubz)
4. Sclist - Mirrored (Urban Scrumping Records)
5. Opolopo - Street lights (ft. Amalia) (Laser Beam mix) (Swedish Brandy)
6. FaltyDL - Because you (Planet Mu)

Top surfing the Tsunami our Fly Russia compilation unleashed last month, Moscow beat sophisticater OL delivers his Random Phrase EP fresh from the spray. There is something magic about young OL’s music, something lurking behind his polyrhythmic, anfractuous beats that is difficult to put a finger on. The tracks on Random Phrase swim from warm noise, yet there is a starless depth beneath echoing his past in Minimal- and Dub Techno. Into this, OL injects melody as mutant riddims that once come sweet and spacy the same as sick and stomach-turning next after.
You might recognize the connection to LA’s Hip Hop trailblazer Shlohmo in the entanglement of Beat, Dub, and Ambient music. Yet OL manages to settle his own niche, delivering the score to what Moscow cats in rarely lit basements spastically move their body to.

Error Broadcast teamed up with Siberian weblog Gimme5 to deliver this 17-track compilation Fly Russia that features all the names relevant to the Russian beatscene such as Pixelord, DZA, Lapti, Nocow, 813, Kontext, Demokracy, OL and many others.
At all given diversity, common to all tracks on Fly Russia is an in-depth understanding of 30 years of experimental electronic music, the love for a Hip Hop and downbeat tempo plus something people might define as "Slav Soul". Beneath several layers of nasty beats and hissing synthesizers, melancholy lurks in nearly every song. The generation of young beatmakers we refer to as Fly Russia does aim for nodding heads and emotional impact all but the same.

Hot on the heels of Pixelord's Lucid Freaks pt. 1 comes this eleven-track remix compilation. "Lucid Freaks pt. 2 - The Remixes" features a couple of Russia's hottest producers, including RBMA -participant DZA, Demokracy, OL and Miracle Libido (the latter two as known from their Monday Jazz tape). The Lord himself reworked a tune exclusively for this record.
From the US, we got AshTreJinkins and Chocolate Girl with their bass-heavy interpretations of Steppa styles. Netherland knob twiddlers Jameszoo and Coco Bryce re-crunk the Pixelord funk, and finally Austria-based producer Abby Lee Tee is dropping in for a mix. One hell of a line-up, you bet. Art comes from Michael Dotson, once again.
.01 Quartz Boy (Coco Bryce Dirt Rider Remix)
.02 Boss Worm (Calm as Worm DZA Rework)
.03 Cybernator (PXLRD Remix)
.04 Cybernator (Abby Lee Tee Cyberwars Rebot)
.05 Cartoon Friend (Demokracy Remix)

Our show entitled DEAD, DRUNK, AND NAKED is on from 2-4am Friday mornings (Thursday nights). So, should you care to listen in tune to 90.5 if you are around Columbia, SC or stream us on the web at http://wusc.sc.edu/index.html (look under webstream and then click "Cant Hear Songs".
The rules of the station are pretty simple, no Top-40 ever in any way shape or form (even in the artist only had one album/hit at #39 for one week) (based on the Billboard Top 200 only). We also have to play 50% rotation. Anyway I just subbed for a guy this morning and here is the playlist.
Golden Smog- "Corvette"
Big Star- "When My Baby's Beside Me"
Destroyer- "It's Gonna Take An Airplane"
Robert Pollard- "Supernatural Car Lover"
My Morning Jacket- "One Big Holiday (live)"
John Mayhall- "Blues for the Lost Days"
