The Fragile turns 9 years old today! It's amazing that it still sounds so good after all these years.

Listen to The Vinyl version. I wrote it capital because after listenind to it, CD version sounds "lite" and "adapted for the masses". And Ripe (w/o Decay) is worse as a single track, but it ends the album much more dramatically than w. Decay. It expresses the lost of hope and complete failure of character flawlessly. Extended La Mer, TDTWWA, Even Deeper, Pilgrimage, The Wretched, IALFTJY,F + 10 Miles High, The New Flesh, Ripe. If only they re-released that for 10th anniversary in CD...

Damik: if you're still looking for a big poster of the cover, check eBay. My sister got one and framed it. It's hanging by her entertainment center. Looks pretty cool on the wall.

This album does tend to divide a lot of NIN fans , doesn't it? :) I think it's a masterpiece, but don't feel disappointed upon first listen. Like others have said, it takes repeated listenings. If I remember, critical reviews upon release were also divided (the full spectrum from masterpiece to mediocre to letdown). Nonetheless, it'll always be my favorite NIN.

IAJP - couldn't agree more! Honestly, I didn't really "get" TF until I had owned it for over a year. I'll bet it took 20 complete listens before it started to fit together and make sense - and when it did, I became a believer!!!!
