Sobre este álbum
Century Child é o quarto álbum de estúdio da banda Nightwish, lançado em 2002 pela Spinefarm Records.
Foi o primeiro álbum com Marco Hietala como baixista, que também faz os vocais masculinos.
Na edição limitada, avaliada apenas na Finlândia, há um vídeo clipe de “Over the Hills and Far Away” e um código, que utilizando-o, pode fazer download de três canções do Nightwish (“Nightwish”, “The Forever Moments” e “Etiäinen”) da demo da banda.
Na versão do álbum no Japão, há uma faixa bônus: “The Wayfarer”.

The album which got me into them and into symphonic/gothic/female-fronted metal. Now songs don't sound to me so amazing and technically convincing as when I was 14, but still bring me lots of good memories, and I've got much to thank for.

This one doesn't quite catch me. Some songs are really good (End of all Hope, Bless the Child, Slaying the Dreamer, etc.) but overall, it just doesn't "hook" me the way any of their other albums do. Probably my least favorite one...can't exactly pinpoint why, but yeah. o_O
