2001: New Order - Get Ready
It was New Order's comeback album after 8 years of hiatus. It spawned three really successful and really good singles. It's edgy, it's a rock album, its lead Crystal is the self-confessed single biggest inspiration for The Killers. Problems? It's a little bit shit as a whole, and doesn't touch most of the rest of their back catalogue. Still I fanboid over this for quite some time and it did lead me to look into the rest of it, including buying the epicly good Joy Division box-set Heart and Soul.
2002: The Libertines - Up the Bracket
I started listening to this for the best of any reason to listen to an album - to get a hot girl talking to me. I mean why else would you listen to anything?
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way.
Got into this music business a bit late. This was my first album.
2004: Head Automatica - Decadence
Same reason, different girl.
The Others - The Others
THIS IS FOR THE POOR.
2005: Cage - Hell's Winter
One of the finest rap albums released ever period. Something perfect about the flow and the beats and the subject matter and the individual songs. The Franz Ferdinand of Def Jukies.
Lemon Jelly - '64-'95
FIRST GIG eee.
