There was this comic series called Bloom County back in the 80s (my dad has a few books of them), and one of the characters tried singing the original version of this song while auditioning for a hair-metal band. (It didn't go well, predictably.) And now, well over a decade later, we have this kick-ass version by Nevermore. The re-done music fits the lyrics perfectly, but it has all the balls of a Nevermore song.

In addition to doing awesome everything else, Nevermore also does awesome covers-this and Love Bites (originally by Judas Priest) are extremely well done covers.

For a year i didn't even realize this was a cover. The general atmosphere and lyrics just fit to Dead Heart, in a dead world-album so appalingly good.
