I thought everyone knew by this point that skynyd and Neil were cool. Neil would perform Sweet Home Alabama live sometimes. Plus, BarelyBe, "too republican" for you? That sounds just as closed-minded as any racist. I dig Skynyrd, and for many southerners it's all about heritage and NOT hate.

Ugh, I FAR prefer Neil Young, than Skynard. The whole redneckish, confederate flag waving thing bugs me. Yes I know they didn't like guns, and they wern't racist, but still too republican for me. Thank goodness the South of this song is not the norm anymore. This song was eye opening to a young Southern girl. I'm glad my generation helped bring in changes needed for so long.
