The first musical genre that I loved was metal; but this was rapidly followed by various flavours of industrial music, and I'm still discovering new artists that I like 15 years later.

Since joining LastFM about 6 months ago I've stumbled across a few interesting Industrial/EBM artists I hadn't known of before. The three I've listened to most are covered below.

Angelspit

I love these guys. Ascerbic lyrics, synthesizers, vocorder samples, and grinding guitars mixed to give quite an original sound. I've heard that they're not that great live, which would be a shame if it's true, because its exactly the kind of music which *should* be great live.

They're not really ones for music videos, and the one I do know of (for Vena Cava) I don't really rate. However, I've managed to dig out a couple of fan made videos on YouTube.

I was gutted I missed them on tour last year; they're currently back in Oz, and won't be touring here for I while I think.

Combichrist

An EBM act originally from Norway, due to start touring again in August (they're doing a gig on August 3rd in The Electric Ballroom, in Camden, London). For all the gentlemen out there, I have to break the following bad news: the band fired the hot blond on the decks some time ago. Yeah, I know. It's tragic.

A little trivia: the music video is cut with scenes from a dodgy B movie called "The Gene generation". The girl in the video, who features on the cover of the single, is a Chinese actress called Bai Ling, who starred alongside Bandon Lee before his untimely death in The Crow.
