Mos Def was obviously making an album for himself here, kind of as a testing ground. He basically experiments with tons of different stuff and makes whatever the hell he wants. A lot different from his other work, but I admire him for trying something new and different and making it great.

the panties! nice track... album as a whole is very different that BoBs, but it has some positive points, probably a little underrated, but its still not terrific. i'll definitely be on the lookout for the ecstatic come february.

The lack of critical adoration for this album is shameful. Dismissed mainly because it's not a sequel to Black on Both Sides. The New Danger definitely deserves a reappraisal.

echo last post. love the album. much more emotional and introspective than BOBS. not to say the former wasn't a masterpiece, but this got undeservedly slept on and mistakenly discredited. there's a lot of substance here. Mos still has it.
