Melody Club is a swedish band. It’s original members were Kristoffer Östergren (vocals), Jon Axelsson(synthesizer) and Erik Stenemo (guitar) when the band was founded in 2002. Magnus Roos (bass) and Richard Ankers (drums) joined a few months later. Their music can be described as a mixture of electropop and synthbeats.

Before Melody Club, Kristoffer, Nicklas and Jon were all members of Tambureens who made two albums; Tambourine Girl (1995) and Love Affairs (1998).

The band now lives in Stockholm, Sweden, but 4 out of 5 members (2004) is born in Växjö (Sweden). During the first halfyear as a band they wrote songs and recorded them, but didn’t perform music.

Their singles Electric and Palace Station from their first album, Music Machine, quickly became popular and the song Baby (album:Face the music) was even a greater success in Sweden.

In 2002 were they on a tour with the Swedish band Kent and in late 2005 and early 2006 they were on a tour with Kylie Minouge as warm up band. They have had great success in Japan and is planning tours in Europe summer -06. Hardly no gigs in Sweden; so we’ll miss them here!

In 2005 there was a change of members in the band, both the bass player, Magnus Roos and Richard Ankers, playing the drums, quit the band. They were replaced by drummer Andy A and the new bass player Nicklas Stenemo (earlier member of The Mo).

I really like the new album! Maybe not as great as the earlier albums, but it definetely has some gems. Girl's Don't Always Wanna Have Fun, On The Run, The Only Ones, High Society Girl and Oh Candy Call me is great! It's a nice mix together with the other stuff!
