Born and raised in the outskirts of London, Maxine Hardcastle is just at the begging of her music career. Writing her first song at the tender age of four, It is true to say music runs thought her family’s veins. ‘Louis Hardcastle’, her grandfather was a credible jazz/soul musician and performer, tap dancing his way around the world until the fine age of 80! Her father ‘Paul Hardcastle’ made his mark revolutionizing the sound of pop in the 80’s and is currently a successful smooth jazz artist/producer. Maxine’s youth was typically spent attending ‘all things musical’. Trained in Ballroom, Latin American, Ballet, Greek and commercial dance she has performed on various stages through-out the country. Acquiring A’s in both music and drama GCSE and A Level, she was excepted to The ‘Italia conti Academy’, taking a Diploma course in theatre arts. Credits at this time can include singing on the Spice Girls Movie, Dancing several times on S-Club television, appearing in the series I- dream, singing live at the Royal Albert Hall and co-writing and performing on ‘Hardcastle 4’, which became No.1 on the American Smooth Jazz Billboard charts. At 18 years old Maxine left her training in order to concentrate on her own material. Setting up a ‘mini’ studio in her bedroom, she took on the task of teaching herself a professional music program. She was determined to become musically self sufficient and to able to be involved in each step of the making music process.
