Major Lazer new album entitled "Gun’s Don’t Kill People Lazers Do". (Rated at 4/5)

The loose concept behind the project involves the imaginary Major Lazer, a one-armed Jamaican ex-commando and nightclub owner who battles the forces of darkness. Gorillaz-style cartoon videos are on their way, but it's all essentially a wacky front for two deliberately faceless producers and a slew of vocalists. While Diplo's clubland background lies in baile funk and Miami bass, and Switch is the don of the electro micro-genre known as fidget house, the two are best-known for their work on the globally informed pop of MIA and Santogold. They figured it might be a nice idea to go to Bob Marley's Tuff Gong studios in Kingston and revive dancehall reggae for British club kids reared on twitchy electro-disco. They've pulled it off spectacularly well.

Florence and The Machine new album entitled “Lungs".

    (Rated at 4/5)

For a while, former Camberwell Art School student Florence Welch tried to be the singer the record companies wanted her to be: namely, a more rocky graduate from the Lily Allen school of wayward girls. Then one day she began banging on the walls of her mate's home studio, instead of playing the drums, picked out a melody on the piano (which she can't play), and wrote Between Two Lungs, a weird and rather wonderful song about a kiss. If you like Björk or Kate Bush, you'll love it. If you like Nick Cave, Tom Waits or even Siouxsie, you'll find much to enjoy elsewhere, from the soulful blues of Girl With One Eye to the ghostly love song I'm Not Calling You a Liar.

Tinariwen new album entitled " Imidiwan ". (Rated at 4/5)

“Tinariwen's signature sound is hard-wired into Imidiwan, from opener Imidiwan Afrik Tendam to the fuzzy funk of Tahult In, and it carries an emotional resonance that transcends language. This is deeply personal music, with scant regard for commercial considerations; it's geography and history that really count. The climate, landscape and tumultuous events that define Mali's desert region brands Imidiwan with an in-built narrative and a compelling sense of drama.”

Tudo bem, saiu o It's Not Me, It's You, saiu o segundo do The Fray, o novo do Morrissey. Nada demais.

Um dia depois, o No Line on the Horizon.

Drown in the Now (feat. Matisyahu), do The Crystal Method.

Destaque pra 21 Guns, Peacemaker e Horseshoes and Handgrenades.

06/09: The E.N.D..
Battle for the sun.

    My Toys Like Me
    LCD Soundsystem
Portishead AGAIN N AGAIN HASTA QUE SE HAGA!
    The Knife
    Trentemoller

    Anthony & The Johnsons
    M83
    Röyksopp
    The Presets
    Modeselektor o mejor aun Moderat!!!!!!

Tonight's best new track was Recordkingz' 'Keep On.' Just a supreme slice of hip hop. Head nodding brilliance. Check out the album, 'Heavyweight' is you're at all into your hip hop. Ace.

The best old track was Devo's 'It's Not Right.' I've probably had a Devo song as best old tune before but fuckit, they're beyond genius. Oh, to find a modern rock band with a quintillionth the grace, passion and politics of the Spud Boys. *sigh*

heard The Slips a couple of years back, when i got my hands on a promo copy of 'This Time Is Not Your Own'. with a similar sound to dirty underground electro, darlings such as Digitalism, Justice, MSTRKRFT, its hard to understand why The Slips aren't as big as said groups. well anyway they've just launched a new blog, so i thought now would be a good time to post something about them, and as a bonus they aren't shy about putting up music online for free download which isnt a bad thing.
