Biografia

It's superb. For starters, it's the only version of the album that's not horribly brickwalled, and the clarity is great.

super interesting musically and the lyrics are actually good as well (by metal standards), but the screaming-into-a-pillow brutal death vox just kill it for me. [2] ...too bad it's just a one album thing with this band aside from Appalling Spawn. |m|

Elvenefris will seriously go down as one of the best death metal albums of all-time. It shits all over these awful modern brutal/technical death metal bands plaguing the genre.

"I just got the remastered version of Elvenefris out of curiosity to see if it is less brickwalled but unfortunatelly it seems to be another victim of the loudness war... I dont know what bands are thinking these days." Yeah, it's a shame. :/ There's really nothing that the remastered version "fixes" about the album - the original is fine as long as you remember that the album was released in the early 00s which was before most DM bands had ridiculously huge, beefy, clear guitar tones. I assumed that, if they were going to remaster *anything*, it'd be the hubcap snare (which I love, but most people don't), but they just made that even louder and clankier. I really don't have any idea what they were going for there; the only real benefits to the remaster are that "Sadness and Strength" gets an extra thirty seconds or so and it gives you a place to find the two non-album tracks aside from tracking down those stupid old Obscene Extreme comps.

Well yeah I'm aware that the band has been saying "WE'RE TOTALLY ABOUT TO REALLY FINALLY RELEASE THE ALBUM FOR SRS GUYS THIS IS IT" for years now but surely Ptoe's got to realize at some point that he's not getting any younger while sitting on his new material. Maybe he's just embarrassed because it sounds like nu-Cynic or something.
