La música en mi vida
Out 20 2008, 4h50 por Tar-Ovat
(Sobakasu).
Garbage, 3 Doors Down y Punk (2003 - 2004).
Alguien dijo Indie rock? (2007 - presente). The Back Horn, THE ELEPHANT KASHIMASHI, etc. Una de ellas es mi favorita : つばき.

End Of The Month Listening, 06-30-08
Jul 1 2008, 1h37 por eshkubeshku
Wrapping up the month of June, first up is sort of a mystery. Found a Tindersticks 'Black Session' live set from Bernard Lenoir's long running Black Session show from France Inter radio. He's sort of France's answer to Britain's John Peel, except his show features live concerts rather than studio sessions. Apparently there were three different appearances from Tindersticks over the years on the Black Session show, so I don't have a setlist of it. led by Stuart A. Staples, Tindersticks features a melancholy, theatrical sound reminiscent of Kurt Wagner's Lambchop. I certainly want to check out more by this group.
Listened to the new Coldplay, OK but not overwhelming by any means. It seems by teaming up with Brian Eno, they aimed for a more experimental sound. Unfortunately, they sacrificed some of their catchier elements for an edgier sound. However, 'Lovers In Japan' is a worthwhile track.
Third, Low Skies 'I Have Been To Beautiful Places' along with Luminous Orange's latest 'Sakuraswirl'. From Chicago, Low Skies from parlay an indie rock sound featuring elements of Americana and post-rock. If you like bands such as TV On The Radio or Wilco, this band is for you. Japan's Luminous Orange have evolved over the years form a dreamy shoegazer band to a more guitar driven J-rock type band. Good stuff, as a lot of Japanese pop music is.
Lastly, Malcolm Middleton's latest 'Sleight Of Heart' and New Roman Times debut 'International Affairs. As one half of Arab Strap, Malcolm Middleton's solo work is more in a British folk vein. With a somewhat more upbeat sound than Arab Strap, it's a good example of modern British folk-rock. New Roman Times were originally from central Florida and now work out of Texas. I saw this band back in 2006 as an opening act for Centro-Matic I believe. This is a good band who I'm sure have only gotten better, and am looking forward to hearing more recent stuff. Until the 4th of July...TindersticksColdplayLow SkiesLuminous OrangeMalcolm MiddletonNew Roman Times -
