"Excellent first 11 minutes. But why the rest?" That's an awfully stupid thing to say, with a Pink Floyd avatar of yours. [4]

There's something really beautiful about those last 10 minutes, knowing it's the last thing on the last album Lou Reed would release in his lifetime. A fitting end to a great career. RIP

Easily the best thing Metallica have put their name to since 1988.

This song would be great if it was about 3 minutes long.

stop saying stupid shit like "tallica fans" aren't open-minded or whatever the fact is this album has 1 MAYBE 2 shining moments whereas the rest is not just bad.....it's EXTREMELY TERRIBLE. and it's terrible because Lou Reed opens his mouth....yeah i'm gonna say i dont get half of what the hell this guy is trying to say and i guarantee all of you with your "oh this is beautiful" and "great metaphors" blah blah are just talkin out your asses tryin to sound like you know but you don't know wtf he's sayin anymore than i do. for the most part nothing he says fits to the music...he's too fast, too slow, to off key and for once...please sing...instead of talking thru the whole damn thing. and come on...this song and that iced honey are decent....but seriously....20 minutes?

Lulu is an album which makes you laugh/cringe/vomit with complete bafflement at the best of times. But this song actually makes some sort of sense and resembles something I'd actually listen to. The full 20 minutes are a bit much for a casual listen, but the 10 minute outro is a really nice soundtrack for chilling out to.

Lulu is an abomination overall but this is brilliant IMO, has a great ambient feel about it that the others don't really succeed in achieving. Still not sure why there has to be ~8 minutes of feedback at the end though.

Howard Stern aside (I like Howard, but he has the gayest taste in music), the stately, autumnal sound and the inescapably sad lyrics ultimately wins me over, even for 20 minutes. If only the Metallica-heads had not been so quick to ridicule their heroes, they might have found some of the very special moments scattered throughout the not-so-bad "Lulu"

Even though I have no idea what it's about, I love this song. The way Lou whispers "Psychic savagery" gives me goosebumps.
