Letzte Instanz, founded in Dresden, Germany in 1996, is a German Mittelalter rock band particularly noted for their use of the violin and cello. The founding members included Hörbi, Tin Whistle, Muttis Stolz, Kaspar Wichman, Holly D. and Markus G-Punkt. Benni Cellini and Robin Sohn entered the group a year later. To date, they have released six studio albums, one live album, a live DVD, a single, and have appeared on a number of mix CDs.
When the band’s first album, “Brachialromantik” (Brute Romance), they earned swift comparisons to the giants of the popular German Mittelalter rock genre like Subway to Sally and Tanzwut, despite objections from the band that this was not an accurate expression of their sound or style. Shortly before the album’s release, the singer Hörbi left the band to pursue other projects, and the band was left unsure of themselves and faltering with the public taking little interest in their record.
Enter Robin Sohn and a new era for the band. With sharp, complex German lyrics, the new singer arrived and helped shape a new sound. The result was the critically acclaimed “Das Spiel” (The Game), a stark departure from the sound of their previous effort. The strings were drawn more into the background and the focus shifted to the conventional band instruments, making room also for electronics.

Die Songs mit Robin hatten irgendwie nicht so 'nen "Pussy-Touch". Jetzt weiß ich, warum ich die nicht mehr so oft höre, obwohl ich die neuen Sachen auch durchaus in Ordnung finde. Aber irgendwas dran stört mich. Robins Stimme hatte irgendwie was Besonderes. Für mich persönlich. (Ich seh' grad, dass hier schon 'ne Diskussion deswegen im Gange ist. ;P)

Zugegeben, Heilig war für mich mehr "pseudoemphatischer Reinfall" als ernstzunehmendes Liedgut. Und ich bin selbst auch mehr von den alten Alben angetan. Trotzdem haben die neuen Sachen durchaus einen eigenen Reiz.

@Hotaru_VK_Tomoe: Von einem 21Jahre alten Menschen, der alles mögliche an unterschiedlicher Musik hört, gesagt zu bekommen dass die neueren Alben pubertierende ''Kiffies'' (toller schreibfehler xD) anziehen soll, bringt mich als fast 17 jährige zum lachen xD Ich kenne niemanden in meinem Alter der Letzte Instanz hört, obwohl ich mit vielen Leuten denen es gefallen müsste befreundet sind. Ich persönlich mag Brachialromantik UND die neueren Alben, welches mehr bin ich nicht sicher. Und zu deiner Antwort, ich finde Brachialromantik hat auf seine eigene Weise eine ergreifende Art, nur bei Kalter Glanz oder Heilig kommen die inneren gefühle mehr zur geltung, während Brachialromantik eher auf eine sarkstische weise, wie bei schlangentanz wirkt ^^ Also ist meine Meinung, am ende streiten hier eh alle nur rum dass ich besserwisserisch bin, was ich auf keinen fall sein mag :/

@Erume: Meiner Meinung nach schon, da Herr Lohse bzw. Robin es für mich nicht geschafft hat, das, was er singt, an mich so zu übermitteln, dass ich gesagt hätte "Wow! Ich kann mich in die Musik fühlen" Aber das ist ja nur meine Meinung ^^ Ich wollte damit eh nur sagen, dass man nicht gleich ein "pubertierender Kiffie" ist, nur weil man eine andere Meinung oder einen anderen Geschmack hat als bestimmte Leute hier xD
