Gran momento.

Recently I was putting some tickets in the box I store all my tickets/flyers in and realised how tatty and faded they were becoming. This fact, combined with my appalling memory, has led me to keep a list of the gigs I've been to. In making that list, I thought I'd produce the following A-Z of bands I've seen to post on here.

This list comprises of all the bands I know I've seen, whether it be as headliners, supports or at a festival. It is not a definitive list; some bands I've seen more than once but don't know how many times and I'm sure there's plenty of bands I've missed. But hopefully I've not missed too many...

  • KFLA Update 6/9/09 - Ivoryline, Master, Joey Cape of Lagwagon and more!!!

    Jun 9 2009, 18h44 por TheKnitLA

    Sunday, July 19th
    Ivoryline
    7:00 PM, $10
Born into the burgeoning Texas music scene circa 2005, Ivoryline has carved a path of success with tenacity and musical force of will that has made their journey less a road to perdition and more rock ‘n’ roll Utopia. The storm grew stronger when the boys caught the ear of executives at mini-major Tooth and Nail Records, who had the foresight or the luck to be the company who can say they discovered Ivoryline. Crowds grew from a few dozen to a few hundred and sometimes into the thousands and a legend was born.

    Thursday, July 23rd
Master, Pathology, Dreaming Dead, Horrid, Sacrificial Slaughter
7:00 PM, $12 advance, $15 day of show
Master, led by Paul Speckmann, is one of the pioneering forces in death metal. Hailing from Uherske Hradiste, Moravia, in the Czech Republic, they have recently signed with Pulverised Records and will be unleashing a new Master-Piece shortly. Only a trio, the impact their wall of sound unleashes shows these guys have indeed learned their trade well.

    Thursday, September 17th
Joey Cape (of Lagwagon), Jon Snodgrass (of Drag The River), Chad Rex
7:30 PM, $10 advance, $12 day of show
Known for his work with popular punkers Lag Wagon, Afterburner, Bad Astronaut, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Joey Cape is releasing his first solo acoustic collection on Suburban Home Records, entitled Bridge. Opening with the song “The Ramones are Dead,” Bridge puts Cape in the company of Against Me’s Tom Gable, Hot Water Music's Chuck Ragan, Avail's Tim Barry, Kevin Seconds of Seven Seconds, and other punk rockers who have chosen to strip away the drum sets and 100-watt half stacks to more clearly present their lyrics and melodies. Is this the new folk scene?
