While I love the original (heck I remember when MOR was released), it seems too treble-laden. It's almost as if they play it in standard tune, through a guitar amp no less! ;) Josh takes this already pounding riff, beefs it up with sweet structure shaking low frequency muscle, and then as @whitey25 says below--gives it a "groovy vibe" that's all Kyuss.

Your right, the Black Sabbath version is still better but this version just gives off some groovy vibe you can't hear on the original which is all Kyuss.
