My #1 last.fm track since October 2005. Not a bad achievement seeing as its 13mins long. Love the improv section of it too

Agree with everyone saying the second part of this song is just like a dream. It in a way reminds me a movie "2001: Space Odyssey "...

Actually I think I love that improv part now. Its just so dreamy.

yeah, fuck you. 1st part, Dream, is, however you look at it, just a ballad, and you can find many songs similliar to it, while 2nd part,The Illusion, is just incredible and unique experience. Pure avant-garde, I'd say ;)

9 minutes of ambience. Looks bad on paper. But it does have a dream like quality to it, and it also builds - subtly - to a climax. Wonderful chord expression and notes. I think it's amazing.

@The_Evdaimon: make that four =)... I like the first part better tho, it's great

2nd part would be nice if it was about 2-3 minutes. But not ten!!! Instead of it they'd better record another song like In The Wake of Poseidon.

People SKIP the second section o.O. I agree with nowone, TCOTCK wouldnt 'work' without it! Breaks it all down nicely for the truly amazing epic The Court of the Crimson King

_NoWone_ escreveu:
The Court of the Crimson King won't work *as much* without that calm and strange Moonchild's second part.

Awesome song all the way, I love both the first and the second part.

If someone understands the second part of the song, would they please explain it to me in pm?

Well, I think its extremely boring.

So we are at least 3 people on earth to enjoy that section.

Funny this song is listed as 2:27, guess most people just cut off the noodling :D I still haven't entirely got that section, not sure if I ever will, but I don't skip it either.

Absolutely. The freeform improv section can get a bit boring at times though.
