Skethces of a Man is the third studio album from Detroit neo-soul artist
Dwele. His MySpace page and online retailers' websites read that it's scheduled to be released at June 24th, but it was already available yesterday at a HMV store near my house and I picked it up right away. This album is his first Koch release and contains the lead single "
I'm Cheatin'." Well,
Bobby Caldwell cover "
Open Your Eyes" is a pleasant surprise.
Beautiful songstress
Chante Moore just released her first solo album in 8 years,
Love The Woman, last week. After releasing two duet albums with her husband
Kenny Lattimore, Chanté then signed to jazz label
Peak Records and started making this solo album. The lead single "
It Ain't Supposed To Be This Way" is a smooth jazz tune, but the whole album is more like "Jazz-influenced R&B" and hasn't gone too far from her older works.
Kano is a British hip-hop/grime MC and
London Town is his second studio album, which was released in 2007. This album features various styles of sound other than grime and guest spots from variety of artists, including
Craig David,
Kate Nash and Damon Albarn of
Blur.
Chupacabra is the debut album by female singer/rapper
Imani Coppola, which was released more than 10 years ago. Since I got hooked by a song by some group called
Little Jackie and found out that Imani is its vocalist, I've been also interested with her solo works and decided to buy this CD.
Little Jackie is now preparing for their debut album,
The Stoop, due at July 8th.
