Justin Moore came out of the shoot with a successful debut album that spawned two Top 40 country hits. His self-titled debut included the chart topping “Small Town USA.” Justin and guitarist Roger Coleman stopped at our studio as they played two from the new album Outlaws Like Me, including the latest single, the slow-strumming twang of ”If heaven wasn’t so far away.” We were also treated to that #1 smash “Small Town USA.”

Last.fm Top Artists
George Strait has held the #1 spot for most of the month of September, but Brad Paisley takes over this week with 29 listeners, one more than Strait. Dwight Yoakam, having a bit of a resurgence despite not having any new material, tied Tim McGraw for third place with 24. Miranda Lambert, who’s got a brand new album coming out tomorrow, came in at #5 with 23. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy purchasing day for country music listeners, and we should see a decent boost from a few artists on the chart besides Lambert, including Patty Loveless (#15, 18 listeners), Robert Earl Keen (#150, 6), The Avett Brothers (#150, 6) and Corb Lund (#350, 3). This is, assuming that everyone has a nearly unlimited shopping budget thanks to this great economy, where salaries are high and no one has to decide between food and luxury items like new music.
